Abstract

We connect to each other in a variety of different ways, both seen and unseen; and these connections through social media and other digital platforms shape our information identity as a complex accessory to our human existence. By utilizing data collected by means of surveying social media users’ personal experiences, I will develop an understanding of the varying level of complexity involved with connecting to another’s information identity and how it shapes others’ view as external addition to our mental identities. As a result, this will inform a visual outcome that will display the intricate, complex, and algorithmic connections each of us possess to create ours and others’ information identity, in the form of a collection of wearable accessories.
